The Founders of Artistacon

Artistaconcepts LLC and Artistacon is the vision of two friends who share a life-

long passion for Art and storytelling. After years of drawing pictures and loitering

around Artist’s Alley at various Comic Conventions, Chris Kotsakis and Enrico

Botta noticed that many people would ask many questions about “breaking into”

the comics industry and wanted tips and tricks of the trade. They thought that

honing in on the creative process and narrative visual storytelling would be

awesome for aspiring creatives and industry professionals alike. So they decided

to invite some amazing artists, throw a party, and help mentor the next

generation of artists in the process. And they know what they’re talking about,

because they have been around the artistic block a few times throughout their art

careers.

Chris Kotsakis’ illustration work is a bold, graphic style described as “visually

stunning” by his clients who include Scholastic, Inc., Dell Publishing, and Ellery

Queen Mystery Magazine. Enrico Botta is an artist, writer, designer, illustrator,

and sculptor who has sculpted and designed for Disney and McFarlane Toys, he is

currently hard at work on his latest independent sequential art project, The Black

Demon, soon to be released.

Their independent Comic “Dark Antiquities“, which debuted at NYCC and

Baltimore Comic Con has been well received and earned high ratings from Comic

Wow. They are currently working together on several other projects under their

new imprint, ArtistaComics
